History
The Apple Blossom Inn was built in 1806 as a two-story, German architectural style, home on the original lot No. 44 of the Town of New Market. In the colonial period, New Market was a trading center at the intersection of two, ancient Indian trails. In the early nineteenth century, New Market was known as a center for medicine, printing, and schools. The Civil War Battle of New Market took place in 1864 and the house now known as the Apple Blossom Inn, narrowly escaped damage from cannon fire. In 1972, the National Register of Historic Places listed the entire town of New Market on its registry. The Windle Home was purchased by the Wilsons in 2004 and became the Apple Blossom Inn in April 2005. If you want to know more about the Heritage of New Market, schedule a tour with The New Market Walking Tour Company, guided by your hostess.

Bathrooms
Both bedrooms share 1.5 baths. The rooms are never rented to two different

or use of both. You would never be sharing the house with someone you do
not know.
Other rooms
A kitchen, with microwave, stove, refrigerator and dishwasher is available
for use by guests.
Dishes and cooking utensils are also included. Due to a severe, airborne allergy of your hosts, no potato products may be cooked or consumed in the Inn.
Enjoy playing the 1904 Ivers and Pond Grand Piano in the music room. Ask your hostess to demonstrate the 1890's pump organ. Search the photos for Barbara Bush.
Read the newspaper, play chess or just relax and read your favorite novel in the living room.
Enjoy the flowers in the gardens of the Apple Blossom Inn. Spring is spectacular with over 1000 bulbs bursting with color. Summer is resplendent with daylillies, geraniums, petunias, begonias, coral bells, and lantana. Fall finds bright yellow crocus and blue pansies beneath the gold leaves of the crabapple tree. For those who enjoy garden design, talk to the Wilsons about the future formal boxwood garden plan.
