The Apple Blossom Inn was built in 1806 as a two-story, German architectural style, home on the original lot No. 44 of the Town of New Market. In the colonial period, New Market was a trading center at the intersection of two, ancient Indian trails. In the early nineteenth century, New Market was known as a center for medicine, printing, and schools. The Civil War Battle of New Market took place in 1864 and the house now known as the Apple Blossom Inn, narrowly escaped damage from cannon fire. In 1972, the National Register of Historic Places listed the entire town of New Market on its registry. The Windle Home was purchased by the Wilsons in 2004 and became the Apple Blossom Inn in April 2005.
